Library Policies

Basic Library Expectations

  1. We want to keep our books and library clean and bright. To make this happen, food and drinks are not permissible in our library.
  2. Students who visit the library during the school day without their class need to have an e-hall pass and check-in at the circulation desk upon arrival.

Book Check-out

  1. Students may check out three books at a time for three weeks. The due date is stamped on the inside of the book's back cover.
  2. Books can be renewed before the due date. The new due date will be stamped inside of the books.
  3. It is the student's responsibility to return books on time. We have three book returns inside the school.
  4. When a student has a lost or damaged book, either from another TISD school or from Bonham, he/she is responsible for paying the replacement cost of the book(s). Cash, check, and money orders are accepted. Please contact Mrs. Ortiz about payment options.

Technology Use in the Library

  1. Students must bring their assigned Chromebooks for use in the library. Chromebooks are for academic use only.
  2. The library does not have spare Chromebooks to checkout to students who forgot their devices at home.
  3. Unfortunately, we do not have a way for students to print in the library. Students needing to print assignments for a class must do so at home.

Library Availability: 8:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Before school:

Students are welcome to come into the library before school to read or work on assignments.

Lunch:

The library is also available during all lunches with a pass from the librarian. Students may not bring food or drinks into the library, but may use the library after they eat. If a class is using the library during the lunch times, availability for lunch students may be restricted.

After School:

The library is open until 4:15 each afternoon, unless it is in use for administrative purposes.

If, at any time, students not with a class are being distracting to the library environment, they will be asked to return to class or the appropriate before/after school location.
