Students in the designated top 10% on each middle school campus will be recognized on an annual basis. The Top 10% is determined by the student’s cumulative average of the core academic courses of English/language arts, math, science, social studies, and languages other English. The cumulative average will be comprised of a student’s semester averages during 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. The ranking period shall end after the fifth grading period for middle school.

Bonham parents are invited to attend an informational meeting about the STAAR tests that the students take in the spring. The meeting will cover which tests the students take and tips to prepare students at home for testing day. We look forward to seeing you on March 7!

Bonham Theatre competed in U.I.L. One Act Play on Saturday, February 25, winning 1st place. Other awards included:
Outstanding Technical Crew
Honorable Mention All-Star Awards to Jonathon Boyd, Abby Cook, and Chloe Prentiss.
All-Star Cast Awards to Shelby Freehill, MacKenzie Majors, Julia Prather, and Avery Sears.
Best Actress went to Emily Perkins.

Mrs. Stephens, BMS counselor, is meeting with current 5th graders this week to make schedule choices for 6th grade. Her schedule is as follows:
Feb. 27: Raye Allen & Cater
Feb. 28: Western Hills & Scott
March 1: Thornton & Garcia
March 2: Jefferson & Kennedy Powell

Students will receive an orange course request form to take home to get signed. This form needs to be returned to the student's elementary campus counselor.

8th graders interested in trying out for the Temple High School Cheerleaders or Mascot must complete and submit information packets by February 23.

The Temple High School counselors will be at BMS in the library February 14-17, 2017 to meet with the 8th graders and their families about high school registration. Meetings will be scheduled ahead of time.

The BMS spring 2017 book fair is February 6-10. Shop in the library from 8 a.m. -4:15 p.m. all week, or online from February 1-21. All online orders are shipped to BMS at no extra cost.

The 7th & 8th graders take benchmark tests this week to prepare for STAAR testing later in the spring. Visitors are not allowed on campus during benchmark testing, including lunch visitors. Students need to plan to bring their lunches from home or purchase from the cafeteria.

Tuesday, February 7:

The middle school UIL Academic Contest is scheduled for the first weekend in February. Please check back for updated times and locations.

The 8th graders will visit THS to tour the campus and learn about the various elective choices. This trip is in preparation of the high school counselors meeting one-on-one with the 8th graders and their parents.
